Pima Medical Institute is hiring a Diagnostic Medical Sonography Instructor!

Daily Impact:
  • Design and deliver dynamic daily lesson plans, lectures, and practical demonstrations that align with program objectives and established curricula.
  • Proactively monitor student performance, including grades and attendance. Maintain an 80% student success rate across all courses, and collaborate with the Student Services Coordinator or Associate Director to address at-risk students (e.g., grade averages below 77%, or two consecutive absences).
  • Manage all aspects of student evaluation, from maintaining grades per institutional policy to preparing final transcripts. Adapt teaching methods to meet individual student learning needs and advise students on program curriculum.
  • Supervise lab sessions, demonstrate proper procedures, assist students hands-on, and rigorously enforce all safety protocols.
  • Coordinate and arrange guest lectures, community service opportunities, and clinical site visits to enhance the learning experience. May also assist with externship coordination.
  • Prepare and submit weekly attendance reports to the office management department and maintain open lines of communication with student support staff.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of practical, hands-on experience in the sonography field as a sonographer or ultrasound technologist.
  • Credentials:
    • Active RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) credential required.
    • Concentration-specific credential(s) in Abdomen (AB) and/or Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN) preferred.
    • Current licensure or certification as required by local, state, or federal law.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with modern office and educational technology, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
