Description

We are seeking a Master's Level Intern to join our Behavioral Health Team in Greenville, SC.

National Youth Advocate Program is accepting internship applications for our Behavioral Health team in Greenville, SC for the Spring 2027 semester. Working with the Behavioral Health team, you will get hands on experience working with youth and families. You will also have the opportunity to observe other therapeutic areas throughout the agency to gain insight to the communities and clients we serve. This position works closely with youth, families, foster parents, and community partners.

This opportunity is for students enrolled in a Master of Social Work program from an accredited College or University.

Your Internship Experience May Include:

  • Providing appropriate individual, group, and family mental health services, case management, transportation, and other professional services, meeting or exceeding established outcomes thresholds on behalf of persons served.
  • Traveling as needed, to provide community-based services to youth and families in compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Completing all required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Completing all required training in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating and monitoring services for the youth and family in the community, for mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational, and social services.
  • Regularly reviews and modifies youth-based plans to assure consistent progress and success on written plan goals.
  • Assisting in family reunification and/or stabilization efforts with the youth's primary family or other permanent living arrangements consistent with the youth's case plan.
  • Actively participates in the weekly supervision process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution.
  • Must be enrolled in a Master of Social Work program from an accredited College or University.
  • An internship or field placement must be a requirement by the institution.
  • Upon the completion of the internship, the individual would receive credit towards their pursued degree.
  • Experience working in direct service with youth and families is strongly preferred.
  • A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours.
  • Capacity to remain objective and professional in all areas of job function.
  • Capacity to be flexible and responsive to youth served, foster caregivers, system partners, and internal customers.
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.

Driving and Vehicle Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable personal transportation
  • Good driving record
  • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability
