Job description

The 11th & 12th Grade Math Teacher develops and implements engaging instructional plans for Algebra II, Statistics, and Pre-Calculus courses in an effective manner. The Math Teacher maintains a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and personal growth while establishing positive relationships with students and maintaining effective classroom management. The Math Teacher evaluates student progress, provides timely feedback, and differentiates instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of learners. The Math Teacher works collaboratively with building administrators, counselors, parents, and fellow teachers to support student achievement, college and career readiness, and successful preparation for post-secondary opportunities.

Job Details:
  • Location: Chattanooga, TN
  • Setting: Charter School
  • Hours per Week: 37.5
  • Pay: $38-40 per hour, travel allowances added for those eligible
  • Pay Frequency: Weekly

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher required 
  • Teacher license/certification, as applicable by state or contract/district 
  • One year of experience as a school teacher, preferred 
  • Willingness and ability to accept direct responsibility for safety, wellbeing, or work output of other people 
  • Ability to read and implement instructional plans, correspond with parents and administration, and effectively present information and respond to questions from administration, parent, students, staff members, and the general public as requested 
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts 
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice 
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
