Summary

This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Faculty - Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) who will be all-in on our mission and who will be responsible for the developing the course curriculum and teaching classroom, laboratory, tech-supported, or online courses.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and enrolled in a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with at least 6 hours of graduate level nursing courses.
Preferred: Master's Degree in Nursing.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
Required: Current and unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Nursing experience in the clinical area in which one is teaching.
Preferred:
  • Experience in intensive care, pediatrics or cardiac care units.
  • Participation in professional organizations.
  • Evidence of competence in teaching, curriculum development.
  • Evidence of continued education.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Exhibit effective teaching in Nursing courses.
  • Develop curriculum and prepare syllabus, keeping course content consistent with the catalog description.
  • Develop on-line courses focused on student success.
  • Demonstrate commitment to student success, innovation, collaboration and instructional quality.
  • Perform teaching activities, including classroom/online instruction, direction projects, and assisting with student coursework, research, and internships.
  • Teach subject matter field in person and online.
  • Assist with student registration and participate in recruitment activities.
  • Serve on college committees.
  • Attend briefings on procedures, advising, registration and general policy.
  • Attend faculty meetings, general assembly, and commencement.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Salary: please review the AC AY24 Faculty Salary Placement. (Salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed. Occasional travel between panhandle colleges required.
Work Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary.)
Work Environment: This job may operate in a classroom, online, or tech supported setting. This role routinely uses standard classroom and office equipment such as microphones, audio/video-recorders, computers, overhead projectors, phones, copy machines, filing cabinets and fax machines.
