Job description

Applications are being accepted to establish a pool of qualified candidates for the position of Adjunct Adult Education ย Instructor General Education Courses in Math (Math 142) at the East Valley Institute of Technology. Sessions generally run for 8 weeks, meeting 2 times per week. Days and times vary each semester.ย 
Job Description:ย The Adult Education Math 142 Adjunct Instructor provides high-quality instruction to adult learners enrolled in the college-level mathematics program. The instructor is responsible for delivering engaging lessons that support student mastery of mathematical concepts such as algebraic reasoning, functions, and quantitative analysis in alignment with the Math 142 course curriculum. The instructor promotes student success through effective classroom management, differentiated instruction, and ongoing assessment of learning outcomes. The position requires strong communication skills, a commitment to adult learning principles, and the ability to create a supportive, inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving.This position requires a commitment to student success, professional integrity, and adherence to EVIT policies and procedures.
Salary: $4500.00 Per Session (3 Credit Class paid at $1500/ Credit)

Education and Experience:ย 







  • Master's degree in Mathematics or closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • One (1) year of college-level teaching experience is required.
  • A minimum of 18 graduate level credits in Math with a grade of "C" or higher.ย 

Preferred Experience:ย 

  • At least two (2) years of collegiate-level teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching college-level math (e.g., Algebra, Quantitative Reasoning, or Math 142 equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse adult learners and promoting student engagement and persistence.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Experience using Canvas, Google Classroom, and ExamSoft or similar learning management systems.ย 

Licensing /Certification and Other Requirements:ย 

  • Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Prints (IVP) Level 1 fingerprint card.
  • Proof of immunization against or immunity to measles and rubella if born after January 1, 1957.ย
