BAIN CAPITAL INVESTOR RELATIONS TEAM

The Bain Capital Investor Relations team includes ~125 professionals focused on business development, client service, diligence, and marketing and is based across offices in Boston, New York, San Francisco, London, Abu Dhabi, Melbourne, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. This team is responsible for raising new funds and accounts, supporting existing investors, collateral production, and reporting across the Firm's strategies.

BAIN CAPITAL STRATEGIC CAPITAL GROUP

The Strategic Capital Group (SCG), which sits within Bain Capital's Investor Relations team, launched in 2023 to serve as a dedicated resource to manage all non-fund LP capital formation activities across the Firm. Today, these activities consist primarily of LP coinvestments, GP-led secondaries (e.g., continuation vehicles), minority sales, and liquidity solutions. The core goals for the SCG are to deepen and manage relationships with direct investment and secondary professionals across our investor base and engage with Bain Capital investment teams on alternative capital solutions opportunities. This is a lean, nimble, and entrepreneurial team at Bain Capital.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly motivated Analyst to serve as a key contributor across the SCG team's day-to-day operations, investor support functions, and strategic initiatives.

The Analyst will play an integral part in day-to-day operations and investor support functions, including:

Transaction and Investor Support

  • Support investor tracking in Salesforce CRM, including creating contact records and logging investor interactions
  • Draft and prepare data analyses and presentations for investor engagements and internal discussions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Coordinate select call scheduling, tracking, meeting agenda preparation, and deliverable updates

Data Management, Reporting, and Systems Ownership

  • Develop deep expertise in Salesforce CRM; serve as the team's primary resource, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and ongoing enhancements
  • Track investor feedback and build, maintain, and enhance investor profiles
  • Partner closely with operations teams to reconcile and validate data across systems
  • Ability to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and gaps in data and proactively drive issues to resolution
  • Liaise with IT to improve reporting capabilities, dashboards, and data integrity
  • Leverage Excel (including advanced functions/macros where applicable) to manage and analyze data
  • Leverage AI and automation tools to derive insights from proprietary data and improve team efficiency (or build new tools as needed)

Strategic and Operational Initiatives

  • Support broader investor related initiatives, including investor analysis and fund-related diligence
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and scalability
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects across the team, supporting strategic priorities as they arise

Team and Firm Engagement

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Legal, Finance, Compliance, IR Diligence, and IR Operations
  • Operate effectively in a high-performance, senior-facing environment

A successful candidate is a result-oriented individual who can work independently, under time constraints, and consistently produce accurate and timely deliverables. The individual should have the ability to think creatively / problem-solve and the desire to help our business grow and succeed. The individual will also serve as a flexible resource across the team, supporting a range of projects and priorities as business needs evolve.

This is expected to be a two-year position with the potential to consider extending the role subject to performance and team growth.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

Professional Requirements

  • 0-2 years of professional working experience, including relevant internships, preferably in investor relations, private equity, or financial services
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate quantitative and qualitative concepts
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required. All candidates will need to complete an Excel test as part of the interview process
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus; the role will require developing strong proficiency over time

Compensation:

Expected Annual Base Salary $75,000 - $85,000

Actual base salary will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications and geographic location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team and firm performance.
