Job description

Job Title: Video Production Specialist

Term: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours/week)

Department: Marketing

Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer

Location: Toronto, ON

Expected Salary Range: $50,000 - $80,000 annually

Position Overview

The Video Production Specialist will be a key creative contributor to the marketing initiatives of International Business University (IBU) and Vega Academic Services Inc. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role is responsible for producing high-quality video content from concept to completion. This includes capturing footage, editing, enhancing visuals, and optimizing videos for various platforms-all while ensuring consistency with the university's brand and messaging. The ideal candidate will work closely with the marketing team and content creators to craft compelling, story-driven video content that resonates with prospective students, current learners, faculty, and broader audiences.

Key Responsible Areas

  • Plan, shoot, and edit professional video content for marketing, social media, events, internal communications, and educational purposes.
  • Manage end-to-end video production, including storyboarding, scripting, filming, lighting, audio, and editing.
  • Edit and enhance footage with color correction, sound design, motion graphics, animations, and visual effects.
  • Create short-form content optimized for YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other platforms.
  • Collaborate with marketing, design, and content teams on creative concepts and visual storytelling.
  • Ensure videos are optimized for different platforms while maintaining brand consistency and production quality.
  • Organize and maintain video assets and archives.
  • Stay current with video production trends, technologies, and editing techniques.
  • Provide occasional support for live streaming and real-time editing.
  • Assist with photography, graphic design, and other related duties as needed.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Film Production, Media Studies, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional videography and video editing experience, preferably in marketing or education.
  • Proficiency with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lighting, audio equipment, and field production.
  • Strong understanding of visual composition, lighting, framing, and storytelling.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects; experience with Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools is an asset.
  • Experience with color grading, sound design, motion graphics, and visual effects.
  • Strong understanding of social media video formats and platform optimization.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with live streaming, VR/AR, or 360-degree video is an asset.
  • Photography and basic graphic design skills are considered assets.
  • Portfolio showcasing videography and video editing work is required.
