Team Scope
Our team owns SB Ad Serving services - a low-latency, high-TPS distributed system serving both billions of Amazon shoppers and millions of advertisers internationally. We are driving multiple cross-org architectural and business initiatives with the highest impact and visibility - all critical, forward-looking, strategic opportunities for Amazon.
The Role
As a Software Development Engineer on this team, you will design and develop highly scalable services that process millions of requests per day, solving complex distributed systems challenges by leveraging state-of-the-art technologies including Large Language Models (LLMs). You will partner with engineering and business teams across the organization to architect, implement, and launch personalized ad experiences at scale. You'll work with the latest technologies used across search, advertising, and e-commerce platforms - collaborating alongside Senior Engineers and Principal Engineers to learn, grow, and make a measurable impact on millions of customers worldwide.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals, including transformer architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and optimization techniques

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
