Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead the development and production of flight electronics systems that power Leo's satellite constellation. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly influence how quickly and reliably we deploy satellites to orbit.
As a Senior Technical Program Manager for Flight Electronics, you will own the end-to-end technical program strategy for the systems that control and enable Leo satellites, from architecture and design through qualification testing and high-rate production.
You will partner with cross-functional engineering teams across electrical, embedded software, RF systems, test engineering, and manufacturing to ensure flight electronics meet the demanding requirements of space while scaling production for a constellation of thousands of satellites.
This role sits at the intersection of systems engineering, hardware development, integration and test, and manufacturing scale-up. Success requires deep technical judgment, strong program leadership, and the ability to drive alignment across complex engineering organizations.
Key job responsibilities
Help Build the Infrastructure That Connects the World:
The programs you lead will become core components of Amazon's satellite network, enabling reliable broadband connectivity for communities around the globe. Your work will help bring high-speed internet access to millions of people who currently lack it, expanding access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunity.
Lead Complex Flight Electronics Programs End-to-End:
Own the technical program strategy for flight electronics systems powering Leo satellites-from early architecture and design through qualification testing and high-rate production. Partner with integration and test teams to define verification and validation strategies that demonstrate system performance and flight readiness. Your leadership directly influences how quickly and reliably satellites deploy to orbit as part of Amazon's global broadband constellation.
Drive Cross-Functional Execution & Technical Decisions:
Serve as the central program leader across electrical engineering, embedded software, RF systems, integration and test, reliability, and manufacturing. Drive trade studies with engineering leadership that balance performance, cost, manufacturability, and schedule while managing system-level constraints including power, mass, thermal, and communication performance across the satellite platform.
Own Planning, Risk, and Integration Campaigns:
Develop and drive program plans tracking major milestones across design reviews, qualification testing, and production readiness. Identify technical and programmatic risks early, build mitigation strategies, and coordinate complex verification and validation campaigns ensuring flight hardware survives the demanding conditions of space.
Scale Hardware into High-Rate Production & Global Impact:
Transition flight electronics from development prototypes into high-volume satellite manufacturing-supporting one of the largest constellations ever built. You will collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to improve production readiness, increase reliability, and drive cost-effective scaling of satellite hardware.
A day in the life
Mission Impact: Your work will help bring reliable broadband connectivity to communities around the world, expanding access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunity.
Technical Challenge: Help develop flight electronics for one of the largest satellite constellations ever built, solving unprecedented challenges in scale, cost, and reliability.
Team: Work alongside engineers from leading aerospace and technology organizations, building a new generation of space infrastructure.
Growth: You'll have direct visibility with senior leadership and opportunities to expand your impact across Leo's satellite development programs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 3+ years experience leading cross-functional engineering teams in delivery of products involving hardware and software
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to engage in technical discussions with engineering to reach optimum system level trades and drive technical solutions on Flight Electronics systems
- Proven track record managing complex programs at scale, including building execution plans, defining success metrics, mitigating risk, and driving cross-functional alignment with interdisciplinary stakeholders
- Ability to regularly engage with senior stake holders and influence across the organization
- High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
- Proven ability to deal effectively with ambiguity while leading in a high-speed, agile environment.
- Proven leadership skills to lead team(s) without direct authority
- Experience in development and test of high-speed digital interfaces, RF fundamentals, and operation of high-speed, high-frequency test equipment
- Experience with manufacturing test strategies, test methods and automation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
