Job description

Join a dedicated healthcare team in a regional medical office serving the Midwest community. This full-time Allergy Clinic RN role supports physicians and mid-level providers by delivering comprehensive patient assessments, treatments, testing, and education. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to established patient safety protocols including infection prevention and safe patient handling.
  • Maintain and care for central lines and prevent surgical site infections according to policy.
  • Administer medications via oral, IM, SC, topical, and IV routes as ordered.
  • Assist providers with procedures, instrument setup, and examinations within scope of practice.
  • Perform phone triage and act as a liaison between patients and providers.
  • Communicate test results to patients, answer questions, and assist with return calls.
  • Document patient complaints, care, medication lists, and visit details accurately in medical records.
  • Manage inventory of medications and supplies.
  • Maintain venous access devices and administer IV push medications and flushes as ordered.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs and weights accurately.
  • Educate patients and guardians on electronic health record portals and benefits.
  • Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered.
  • Provide patient teaching and supportive services as directed.
  • Train nursing and medical assistant staff in clinic roles.
  • Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and obtain necessary precertifications.
  • Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, adaptability, and maintain punctuality and attendance standards.

Education
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program is required.
Experience
Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Certification and License
Current RN license in a Compact state or the state of Missouri is required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
Mental and Physical Requirements
This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
Working Conditions
Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, as well as occasional encounters with hostile individuals. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
