Asbestos Air Monitoring Technician (Seasonal / Internship)

Job Title: Asbestos Air Monitoring Technician (Seasonal / Internship)Company: Technical Environmental Services, Inc. (TES)Location: Jefferson Parish, LA (JPPSS Schools)Duration: Summer 2026 (Approx. May 26 – Early July, ~5 weeks)Training Start Date: April 13, 2026 - April 17, 2026 (Required – Paid Training)

Position Overview:

TES is seeking two motivated, detail-oriented individuals to support asbestos abatement projects across Jefferson Parish. This is a hands-on field role focused on conducting asbestos air monitoring during active abatement work. Selected candidates will be required to attend and complete certification training beginning April 13, 2026, prior to project mobilization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform personal and area air monitoring during asbestos abatement activities
  • Set up, calibrate, and maintain air sampling equipment (pumps, cassettes, etc.)
  • Conduct daily visual inspections of containment areas
  • Document field activities, sampling data, and site conditions accurately
  • Communicate findings with TES project managers and client representatives
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to attend mandatory asbestos certification training starting April 13, 2026
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures
  • Willingness to work in active construction/abatement environments
  • Reliable transportation to job sites within Jefferson Parish
  • Ability to work full-time hours for the duration of the project

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Background in environmental science, industrial hygiene, or safety
  • Prior experience with field sampling or construction environments
  • Current asbestos certifications (Inspector/Air Monitoring Technician)
