Job description

This position offers a base hourly range of $26.10 - $47.46 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, plus bonus based on company performance.

This position is remote, with the expectation that the selected candidate resides and works within the Metro Detroit area and surrounding communities.


1. Support the development, implementation, instruction, maintenance, and administration of safety programs and associated training to ensure compliance and promote a safe work environment
2. Coordinate and perform basic industrial hygiene sampling to identify workplace health hazards, evaluate exposure levels, and support regulatory compliance.
3. Attend and actively participate in safety committees and meetings, including preparing and delivering basic safety-related presentations, sharing incident trends or observations, and supporting communication of safety initiatives and recommendations
4. Attend and observe regulatory audit processes to support compliance efforts, understand regulatory requirements, and assist with documentation, information gathering, follow-up and closure actions as assigned
5. Participate in, facilitate, or lead near miss/incident investigations to understand root causes, support documentation and data collection, and assist with identifying corrective and preventive actions as directed.
6. Perform or coordinate basic safety inspections and routine maintenance of safety equipment, including verifying operational readiness, identifying deficiencies, coordinating repairs or replacements as needed, and ensuring required documentation is completed and maintained.
7. Collaborate with the Sheetz Team to promote a proactive safety culture by reinforcing safe work practices, supporting safety initiatives, encouraging employee engagement, and assisting with safety communications and awareness activities
8. As needed (when requested) outside of normal business hours, perform follow-ups on incidents, injuries, facility/utility issues


Support the development, implementation, instruction, maintenance, and administration of safety initiatives at Sheetz, with direction from department leadership. Assist with identifying, evaluating, and mitigating workplace health and safety hazards through technical knowledge and expertise, while promoting a positive safety culture through employee engagement, communication, and continuous improvement.

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in safety science or safety engineering required.

• Previous internship in safety operations within construction or general industry preferred
