The Opportunity
The Information Technology (IT) Intern Program is looking for college students who possess the ability to be future leaders in IT. Abbott's IT Intern Program engagement is a summer twelve-week assignment.


IT Interns will be aligned to summer assignments that are in key areas of IT. Assignment matching takes the IT Intern's interests, talents and development needs into consideration to support the best fit.


IT Internship assignments may be located at Abbott's Corporate Headquarters in Abbott Park, Illinois (40 miles North of Chicago), or one of Abbott's many domestic locations in the United States.


This program is designed to recruit people who will work for Abbott following their graduation. Candidates must have work authorization on a long-term basis that will allow them to work for Abbott without sponsorship after they've completed their education.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be interested in pursuing a career in the IT field
  • Pursuing Bachelors (Sophomore or Junior Status) or Master's degree in an IT related discipline or formal focus area
  • Candidates must be returning to school following the internship assignment
  • Minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA
  • Have permanent unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S
  • Must be willing to relocate during the assignment period
