Job description

Wage Range: $25.47 - $39.10 per hour

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.


Job Summary: 
Responsible for clerical and reception functions and facilitating communication on assigned units.

Primary Duties:

  1. Provides customer service to patients, families and the cross-functional team.
  2. Facilitates communications - scheduling, coverage of telephones and nurse call systems.
  3. Maintains patient records, CPOE and unit census records on a daily basis.
  4. Coordinates admissions, transfers and discharges to the Charge Nurse and appropriate departments.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

License, Certification, Education or Experience

REQUIRED for the position:

  • High School graduation or equivalent
  • Must possess oral and written skills to efficiently communicate and process information regarding patients.

DESIRED for the position:

  • 1 year of related experience in a similar setting
  • Completion of a medical terminology course and/or a Health Unit Coordinator course.
