Job description

  • Monitor transportation service KPIs, explain deviations, and develop and execute corrective action plans
  • Develop and manage transportation cost optimization and reduction projects
  • Perform cost analysis and lane optimization
  • Negotiate transportation contracts and provide input on actual and projected costs for accounts payable and budgeting
  • Develop carrier relationships, conduct business review meetings, and establish contracts
  • Visit market facilities regularly to ensure harmonization of site operations and transportation sourcing/planning processes
  • Liaise with Customer Service, Customer Logistics, Warehousing, Planning, and other internal stakeholders on transportation issues and operational escalations
  • Work with the SmartHub planning team to optimize deployment of approved carriers for service, cost, and operational efficiency
  • Perform other essential responsibilities as directed by the Regional Distribution Manager or Global Logistics Organization
Requirements
  • 5+ years of transportation experience
  • Understanding of transportation procurement and planning processes
  • Minimum Bachelor of Business Administration or similar preferred
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and drive collaboration across businesses and functions
  • Experience working with international contacts preferred
  • Innovative capabilities, strategic thinking, and foresight
  • Strong business analysis skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • SAP and TMS (Blue Yonder) system experience is a plus
