Internship Program Summary
The USA Triathlon Internship Program is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the largest multisport organization in the world and the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic National Governing Body (NGB) for the sport of triathlon and other multisport disciplines. High Performance Intern
Position Summary
The High-Performance Intern will support USA Triathlon's High-Performance Department, which oversees elite and development athletes competing at the highest levels of international triathlon and paratriathlon competitions. The intern will gain hands-on experience in athlete services, team operations, logistics planning, communications, and international sport administration while working alongside staff supporting Olympic and Paralympic pathways.
Essential Job Functions
  • Assist with planning of domestic and international High-Performance events and World Triathlon competitions.
  • Assist with High Performance operational logistics, including athlete gear fulfillment, inventory tracking, apparel customization, shipment coordination, and vendor communication.
  • Support athlete services and operational planning for High Performance camps as needed.
  • Support data collection, organization, and analysis for High Performance initiatives.
  • Assist with athlete recruitment and talent identification efforts.
  • Support communications with elite and development athletes.
  • Assist in the creation of athlete guides and operational documents.
  • Create content for the Elite Triathlon Bulletin and Paratriathlon Bulletin
  • Assist with special projects across the High-Performance Department as assigned

Qualifications
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an educational program in recreation, athletics, sports management, communication, event planning, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Interest in Olympic and Paralympic sport.
  • Experience participating in triathlon, endurance sports, or collegiate athletics preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with databases, event management platforms, or communication tools is a plus.
  • Candidates located in Colorado Springs or the surrounding area are strongly preferred. The selected candidate should be available to work from the USA Triathlon office in Colorado Springs at least once per week to support inventory management, equipment fulfillment, and other operational needs.

Anticipated Duration:
Start date is flexible between June and July 2026. Internship is expected to run through October 2026, with the possibility of extension through December 2026.
This is an unpaid position. Interns have no guarantee of any paid position at the end of the internship. USA Triathlon will work with students and their educational institutions to support academic credit requirements when applicable.
