Overview
Major League Soccer is seeking a Director, Creators to lead the league's creator ecosystem and influencer marketing initiatives. This role will define and execute a comprehensive creator strategy that drives fan engagement, expands MLS's cultural footprint, and accelerates audience growth across digital and social platforms.
This role is responsible for establishing a scalable creator program that integrates talent into content, social, tentpoles and platforms while also driving measurable business outcomes including engagement, conversion, and revenue contribution. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in the creator economy with a passion for sports, entertainment, and digital culture. They understand how to identify emerging trends, build authentic partnerships, and create scalable programs that deliver measurable business impact.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead MLS's long-term creator strategy aligned with brand, marketing, and business objectives.
  • Build and manage relationships with creators, influencers, agencies, and talent managers.
  • Design and execute creator campaigns supporting league initiatives, marquee events, tentpole moments, and season-long storytelling.
  • Identify emerging creators and cultural trends to keep MLS at the forefront of digital innovation.
  • Partner cross-functional departments on Creator programming and output.
  • Create scalable frameworks for creator onboarding, contracts, content approvals, and performance reporting.
  • Establish KPIs and measurement frameworks to evaluate creator performance, audience engagement, brand lift, and ROI.
  • Manage, maintain and execute against creator budgets while ensuring efficient resource allocation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Media, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in creator marketing, influencer strategy, digital marketing, social media, or entertainment marketing.
  • 3+ years managing high-performing teams.

Required Skills
  • Proven experience developing creator programs for major brands, sports organizations, entertainment companies, or agencies.
  • Strong understanding of creator ecosystems across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, Snapchat, and emerging platforms.
  • Experience negotiating creator partnerships and managing influencer campaigns at scale.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using social analytics and measurement platforms.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders.
