Swiss Re

Job description

Location: New York, NY or Armonk, NY
Are you a seasoned insurance professional with a passion for crafting innovative, bespoke risk transfer solutions? Do you thrive at the intersection of strategy, structuring, and client relationships - working with some of the world's most sophisticated corporates? If so, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
About the Role
As a Senior Structurer within the Captive Fronting & Services team, you will be at the heart of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' global captive strategy - designing and delivering tailored fronting solutions for large corporates and their captives across the world. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role where your expertise, creativity, and market relationships will directly shape the growth and evolution of our Alternative Risk Transfer business. You will work within a collaborative team of specialists, coordinating across the International Desk, Operations, Legal, Credit Risk Management, and other key functions to ensure that every solution is structured and executed to the highest market standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Drive global captive strategy by playing a central role in the continued execution of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' captive fronting business development and growth agenda
• Develop and manage bespoke captive fronting solutions on a global basis, targeting large corporates and their captive insurance vehicles
• Build and maintain direct relationships with key stakeholders including Risk Managers, Brokers, Customer Managers, and internal cross-functional teams involved in global fronting arrangements
• Own the P&L account, including deal monitoring, portfolio management, and delivery against pre-agreed performance targets
• Support origination, structuring, and execution activities across the Captive Fronting & Services team, contributing to the full deal lifecycle
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with colleagues across the International Desk, Operations, Legal, Credit Risk Management, and other applicable functions to ensure compliant and market-aligned execution
• Navigate complex program considerations including regulatory, compliance, collateral, tax, and cash management for single carrier and coinsurance panel international programs
About the Team
The Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) Captive Fronting & Services team at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is a dynamic, close-knit group of experts dedicated to delivering innovative and bespoke risk transfer solutions to large global corporates. We operate at the forefront of the captive insurance market, partnering with clients and brokers to design fronting arrangements that are as unique as the risks they cover. Our team thrives on intellectual curiosity, cross-functional collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence - and we're growing.
About You
You are a confident, commercially minded professional who brings deep technical expertise in international insurance programs and a genuine passion for structuring complex, non-standard risk solutions. You are as comfortable presenting to C-suite partners as you are diving into the technical details of a multi-jurisdictional fronting arrangement. You bring a collaborative spirit, a broad industry network, and an entrepreneurial mindset that drives you to challenge the status quo and pursue new business opportunities with energy and purpose.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fronting and international insurance programs, with a solid understanding of single carrier and coinsurance panel international program structuring - including regulatory, compliance, collateral, tax, and cash management considerations
• Significant and varied experience in the direct insurance market, whether in Underwriting, Risk Management, or Insurance Marketing, complemented by hands-on experience in structuring and executing non-standard risk transfer solutions
• Proven ability to engage and do business at the C-suite level, with strong communication and negotiation skills across diverse, multicultural, and cross-functional environments
These are additional nice to haves:
• Broad industry network with brokers and corporate risk managers, enabling effective origination and relationship-driven business development
• Curiosity and an open, innovative mindset - you question current paradigms, generate new insights, and are passionate about exploring and pursuing business ideas
• Outstanding interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build meaningful professional relationships at all levels of an organization and across functional areas
• Experience working in a multi-cultural, international environment across multiple time zones and regulatory frameworks
• Familiarity with captive insurance structures, including rent-a-captive, pure captive, and protected cell arrangements
**Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $136,000 to $204,000. The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short- and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
