Job Description

We are seeking a CET Design Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will support schools across the country as they create learning environments filled with furniture and materials that serve a wide range of learners. You will bring advanced CET expertise with a primary focus on coaching and training other specialists on CET best practices. Applicants should have exceptional attention to detail, experience training and excellent communication skills that can be tailored to different audiences with a goal-orientated approach to design and instruction. The ideal candidate also brings a strong understanding of early learning and K–12 standards and curricula.

A day on the job looks like this:

Collaboration & Training

  • Providing guidance and training to team members on CET Designer software use
  • Identifying and resolving basic CET software issues, escalating as needed
  • Incorporating feedback from clients and internal stakeholders while maintaining design intent and quality

Documentation & Specifications

  • Creating structured, engaging CET learning experiences covering topics such as contract furnishing, space planning and product specification
  • Maintaining and updating CET catalogs, pricing data and product information
  • Organizing, maintaining and revising CAD and CET project files in accordance with company standards

Design & Space Planning

  • Developing space plans, furniture layouts and typicals using industry-standard software such as CET Designer, AutoCAD, Revit or similar tools
  • Creating photorealistic renderings and client-facing presentations to effectively communicate design concepts
  • Stylizing and elevating renderings to support department standards and visual quality

Project & Continuous Improvement

  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality expectations
  • Staying current on CET best practices to support continuous improvement
  • Providing CET-related technical support as needed
Qualifications

Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:

Required:

  • 2–5 years of experience in CET, including advanced features and extensions; experience with other CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Revit is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural floor plans and construction drawings
  • Working knowledge of space planning, furniture systems and design documentation
  • Extensive experience collaborating with external and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and follow‑through
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field
  • Experience with additional tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with commercial interiors, contract furniture dealerships or manufacturer environments
  • Working knowledge of educational FF&E furniture sales

At Lakeshore, we pay local market wages for employees that reside within Los Angeles and Orange Counties. For employees residing outside of Los Angeles and Orange Counties, pay is based on national market.

For this position, new employees joining Lakeshore are typically brought into the organization at an hourly rate between $29.57-$39.90 depending on relevant experience & skillset.

This range is indicative of projected hiring range. The annual base compensation will take into account each candidate's relevant experience, location, and skillset.
