Job description

Tech Talent International (SI) supplies technical talent to a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 100/500/1000 companies to small and mid-sized organizations in Canada/US and Europe.

We currently have a role as a Senior Storage Administrator - L3 Support with our large consulting client, workig onsite at a major financial services client in the downtown Montreal area.

Role: Cybersecurity - Senior Storage Administrator - L3 Support

Type: Permanent or Contract 40 hrs/week

Location: Hybrid - Downtown Montreal, QC -(roles starts off 5 days in office for 1st 3 months, then turns into hybrid setup 3 days onsite, 2 days from home)

Salary: $90,000 - $95,000 + 9% bonus + 3-5 weeks paid vacation + RRSP contribution + benefits + sick/personal days

Role Overview

  • Lead the onboarding and coordination of a Level 3 support team composed of 5 engineers within the Storage & Backup administration team
  • Support, design, and continuously improve storage and backup infrastructures and associated tools
  • Oversee the implementation and follow-up of security remediation actions
  • Administer and engineer storage solutions in a large-scale 24x7 environment
  • Collaborate closely with IT teams and business stakeholders to design and deliver solutions aligned with business needs
  • Drive automation initiatives to reduce repetitive tasks and improve team efficiency
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex distributed application and infrastructure environments
  • Ensure adherence to procedures, technical design standards, and best practices
  • Participate in a Follow-the-Sun support model covering Europe and Asia
  • Manage activities under the ITIL framework (Change, Incident, and Request Management)
  • Support team routines and participate in overtime operations at least once per month
  • Contribute to technology watch initiatives and recommend improvements
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
  • Deliver peer technology training sessions (on-prem cloud, CEPH, Cinder, OpenStack)
  • Contribute to DevOps initiatives using Python, Flask, Git, Ansible, etc.
  • Operate within a large-scale, international environment

Mandatory

  • Strong expertise in:
    • Block storage / SAN (VMAX, UNITY, CISCO, PureStorage, OpenStack, Cinder)
    • NAS (NetApp)
    • Object storage (S3, Scality)
    • Backup technologies (NetBackup, Cohesity, DataDomain)
  • Proficiency in:
    • Server operating systems (Linux, Windows)
    • Configuration management tools (Ansible, Salt)
    • Cloud technologies
  • Experience managing high-availability environments and disaster recovery (DR) design, implementation, and testing
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in complex distributed environments
  • Solid understanding of ITIL processes (Change, Incident, Request Management)
  • Strong focus on security, including audit remediation and environment hardening
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders
  • Client-focused mindset with strong customer service orientation

Nice to have

  • Experience with DevOps technologies (OpenStack, CEPH, Cinder)
  • Development skills (Python, Git)
  • Bilingualism is nice to have English & French
