Job Description
Engineering Technician
Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical and design support
  • Assemble and construct system assemblies.
  • Conduct tests and debug electronic or electrical systems.
  • Provide and/or expedite project documentation.
  • Assist with organization, checking documentation for new equipment.
  • Assist in production and/or manuals for new equipment.
  • Requisition of parts and/or materials for projects.
  • Prepare drawings and/or sketches, BOM (Bill of Material) list.
  • Review and correct documentation for projects.
  • Maintains and upgrades testing equipment.
  • Repairs and troubleshoot electronic, electrical, and/or mechanical equipment.
  • Technical support for mill and field equipment.
  • Programing/debugging of the PLC and HMI systems (Allen Bradley and Siemens).
  • Programing/debugging of AC/DC drives.
  • Perform specific work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE procedures and policies.

Job Requirements:
  • 2-year technical degree and/or experience in the related field.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of technical ability.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and to relate to technical knowledge to specific applications.
  • Experience with PLC programming (Allen Bradley and Siemens).
  • Domestic and some international travel.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Must be able to stand in uncomfortable positions for some periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in varied weather conditions
  • Must be comfortable getting dirty, and/or working in contaminated areas.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights/manlifts.
  • Valid driver license
  • Willing to travel as needed (less than 20%)
