TECHNICAL PRODUCT MANAGER HISTORIAN

Job Details:

ROLE OVERVIEW

  • The Technical Product Manager (TPM) Historian is responsible for defining the product strategy, roadmap, and feature development for the organizations time-series data historian platform used for grid operations, renewable plant monitoring, and power system analytics.
  • This role will drive the evolution of the historian platform to support high-volume telemetry ingestion, real-time data storage, advanced analytics enablement, and integration with grid automation platforms.
  • The TPM will act as a technical bridge between product engineering, platform architecture, and solutions engineering teams, ensuring that the historian platform supports large-scale grid and renewable deployments while aligning with the broader NeuralGRID digital platform architecture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and maintain the product roadmap for the historian platform.
  • Identify capabilities required to support large-scale power system telemetry, grid analytics, and renewable asset monitoring.
  • Ensure the historian platform aligns with the broader grid digital platform architecture.
  • Drive roadmap priorities based on utility customer needs, renewable integration requirements, and grid analytics use cases

Product Architecture & Technical Governance

Work closely with product/platform architects to define scalable, high-performance time-series data architectures.

Ensure the product supports:

  • high-frequency telemetry ingestion
  • large-scale time-series storage
  • low-latency query and analytics access
  • high availability and fault tolerance

Guide architectural decisions involving:

  • distributed data storage
  • streaming data pipelines
  • edge-to-cloud data architectures
  • scalable query and analytics frameworks
  • cybersecurity and secure data access.

Requirements Management

  • Define and maintain Product Requirement Specifications (PRS) for historian platform capabilities.
  • Translate customer and system requirements into clear engineering specifications.
  • Maintain requirements traceability across product design, development, and validation.
  • Manage product backlog and prioritize feature development aligned with the product roadmap.

Typical functional areas include:

  • high-frequency telemetry storage
  • event and alarm history
  • time-series compression and retention
  • data aggregation and rollups
  • advanced query and visualization integration
  • data interfaces for analytics and AI platforms.

Product Development & Solutions Engineering Coordination

  • Work closely with product development teams to guide implementation of historian platform capabilities.
  • Coordinate with solutions engineering teams to ensure the platform supports real-world grid and plant deployment architectures.
  • Provide technical guidance during feature design and architecture reviews.
  • Ensure alignment with broader grid digital platform standards and architecture principles.
  • Facilitate collaboration across:
  • product development

  • quality assurance teams

Customer & Market Engagement

  • Support sales and solution teams in technical discussions with utilities, renewable developers, and grid operators.
  • Provide product expertise during opportunities involving grid monitoring, digital substations, renewable plant analytics, and asset performance management platforms.
  • Engage with customers and partners to understand evolving requirements for grid data platforms and operational analytics.
  • Contribute to positioning the historian platform as a core data infrastructure component for digital grid platforms.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 1012 years of experience in renewable plant automation or power systems control.
  • Experience working with time-series data systems, SCADA platforms, or industrial telemetry platforms
  • Experience managing software product development for large-scale data platforms or analytics systems
