Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and evaluations to inform initial treatment plans and effective therapeutic interventions.
  • Providing tailored individual therapy to clients using various established modalities, adapting approaches as necessary to meet the unique needs of each individual.
  • Collaborating with clients to define therapeutic goals and objectives, and meticulously tracking progress to ensure treatment efficacy.
  • Offering both in-person and teletherapy options, utilizing digital platforms to accommodate clients facing accessibility challenges or preferring virtual support.
  • Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation in compliance with ethical and regulatory requirements, reflecting our commitment to high standards of professional practice.
  • Participating in continuous professional development, engaging in workshops, and training sessions to enhance clinical expertise and stay updated with evolving practices in mental health care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our outpatient practice serves a diverse client population dealing with various mental health challenges, including but not limited to trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, and relationship issues. You will work with individuals across different age groups and backgrounds, providing compassionate care that respects each client's unique experience and cultural context.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A valid and current license from the state of California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • A relevant masterโ€™s degree or doctoral degree in fields such as Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building trust and rapport with clients in a therapeutic setting.
  • Demonstrable empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach, allowing clients to feel safe in sharing their experiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, including time management capabilities, to effectively handle caseloads and fulfill administrative responsibilities.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experiences are preferred:

  • Prior experience in a private practice setting, familiar with the nuances and demands of outpatient care.
  • Exposure to a variety of therapeutic modalities and a flexible approach to treatment planning.
  • Experience with teletherapy and the use of digital communication tools for counseling sessions.
