Job description

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Commercial Finish Carpenters for projects located in or around Baytown, TX. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $35/hour based on experience and skill level. If you are a Carpenter and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career! 

Job Scope:     

  • Installing architectural mill-work, cabinets, counters, wall panels, shelving, slat-wall, pegboard, display fixtures, portals, fillers, and finished end panels
  • Reading layouts and identifying high/low spots in walls and floors before installation
  • Leveling, plumbing, shimming, scribing, and fitting mill-work to uneven surfaces
  • Making accurate miter, bevel, rip, cross, coping, and notch cuts, as well as field modifications
  • Aligning reveals, seams, joints, doors, drawers, and fixture sections for a clean finished appearance
  • Operating lasers, levels, table saws, track saws, miter saws, routers, drills, and other standard finish carpentry tools
  • Other tasks as assigned

Experience:

  • Must have a background in retail fixture, architectural mill-work, cabinet or finish carpentry installation (preferably new retail store build-out
  • Experience leveling, plumbing, shimming, scribing, and fitting mill-work to uneven surfaces
  • Strong finish carpentry and precise joinery skills
  • Ability to make accurate, precise cuts without damaging finished materials
  • Knowledge of fasteners and anchors in wood, metal studs, masonry, and concrete
