Job description

Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

The electrical engineer will work through the life cycle of equipment, facilities, and sites from design development, to construction, oversite, and operation and maintenances. Work will entail performing in-field walk-downs of equipment and facilities, analyzing systems and components, preparing design concepts sketches and drawings, compiling data and writing technical narrative reports. In addition, assigned work tasks will be diversified and require successful candidates to “think outside the box” and work well with multi-disciplinary engineering design teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Design of commercial and industrial power, lighting, communications, fire alarm and security systems (plans, specs, and cost estimates).
  • Perform Arc Flash Hazard Analysis.
  • Perform facility condition assessments and capital asset management planning.
  • Perform detailed cost analyses and material take-offs of a variety of building types throughout the US and other countries.
  • Perform construction management for ongoing construction efforts.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary design teams.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Experience: Zero to two years’ experience and is seeking to specialize in Power for Electrical Engineering throughout their career. Prefer EIT License or prior engineering co-op/internship experience
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using engineering tools and software:
    • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams/Sharepoint and email Applications
    • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
    • Experience with CAD, Revit, SKM Power Tools for Windows, Easy Power, or other electrical system modeling/drafting software highly preferred.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain a clearance from the Defense Security Service and other Federal Government Agencies.

Location: Merritt Island, FL (Hybrid)

Travel: Up to 30%

Compensation & Benefits:

The expected base salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
