Job description

Who We Are:

The Orthodox Union (OU) is one of the largest Orthodox Jewish organizations in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol, Ⓤ, is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.

Position Summary:

The Creative Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the execution of creative and marketing projects across the OU. This role helps ensure projects are well-organized, clearly structured, and prepared for efficient execution.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams at once. This role is best suited for someone early in their career who is ready to take on responsibility in preparing assets, supporting workflows, and contributing to the creation of marketing materials within established guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation of marketing materials, including producing basic flyers, simple layouts, and website graphics (e.g., thumbnails, headers) using established templates and brand guidelines
  • Prepare and format visual assets for use across digital and print projects, including resizing images and making light edits as needed
  • Ensure projects are execution-ready by gathering missing inputs, organizing materials, and maintaining clarity around deliverables
  • Prepare and organize files for use across projects, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and proper formatting
  • Support the organization and maintenance of creative assets and file systems to ensure easy access and proper versioning
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and creative team to support project execution, including following up on assets and internal inputs as needed
  • Assist in organizing project materials and assets once projects are in motion
  • Conduct basic research and assist with internal tracking and reporting as needed
  • Manage communication with external designers and copywriters to uphold brand standards, provide actionable feedback, and ensure final deliverables align with expectations

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS required or comparable experience
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience (internships included) in a creative, marketing, or related environment
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively and follow through on assignments
  • Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or InDesign) for basic asset creation and editing is a plus
  • Experience with Monday.com or similar project management tools is a plus

Salary & Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000, commensurate with experience.

Health, Dental & Vision Insurance:
The OU offers health insurance through an Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA). Instead of a single group plan, employees have the freedom to choose their own health insurance plan that fits their personal and family needs. The OU contributes a generous monthly amount directly toward your premium, making coverage more flexible, affordable, and tailored to you.

Employees enrolled in our health plan also receive an annual BeniComp stipend, a supplemental benefit that reimburses eligible medical, pharmaceutical, dental, and vision expenses.

In addition, the OU offers employees group dental and vision insurance through MetLife.

Additional Benefits and Perks:

  • 10 Paid sick days
  • 10 Paid vacation days
  • Paid Jewish and Federal holidays
  • Short Fridays to accommodate for Sabbath observance
  • Free life and disability insurance
  • Discounted continuing education opportunities
  • 403(b) retirement plan with a 5% employer match after 3 years (requires a minimum 2% employee contribution)
