About the Role

Culmen International is seeking Corrections Advisors and Instructors to support global criminal justice training and advising effort. 

These positions can be located all around the globe and requires international travel from selected candidates.

This is a talent pipeline requisition for future opportunities. Qualified candidates will be contacted when a position becomes available.

What You'll Do in Your New Role
  • Provide advisory support to correctional institutions to improve facility operations, security procedures, staff management, and inmate treatment.
  • Deliver training on corrections best practices, including inmate classification, humanrightscompliant operations, staff supervision, and facility safety.
  • Mentor corrections personnel at various levels-from line officers to senior leadership-to enhance capability and operational effectiveness.
  • Conduct assessments of correctional systems and recommend improvements aligned with international corrections standards.
  • Support capacity building for correctional intelligence, threat analysis, and information sharing when relevant.
  • Assist with developing and improving procedures for budget management, facility operations, and staff training programs (generalized from typical corrections leadership functions).
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, justice-sector partners, and other stakeholders to strengthen integrated criminal-justice processes.
Required Qualifications
  • At least one (1) year of corrections experience as an officer in prison/correctional facility.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting, advising and training entry-level correctional personnel at the federal, state, or local level on corrections topics through a certified correction's academy and/or corrections program.
  • Experience providing correctional guidance to line staff.
  • Ability to manage prisoners in a correctional setting ensuring human rights practices are consistently upheld.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience at the mid-management and/or senior leadership level in a prison, jail or major corrections program
  • Thorough understanding of managing all aspects of correctional operations including personnel, classification, security operations, intelligence programs, physical plant operations, as well as effective facility/Institutional budgeting.
  • Training expertise should also include managing employee relations and problem resolution methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing large, complex corrections programs and associated operations.
  • Valid US Passport and willing to travel OCONUS.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance (does require US Citizenship).
Desired Qualifications
  • International corrections facility development
  • In depth experience managing large budgets, security operations, intelligence, physical plant operations employee relations, conflict resolution issues that arise from organizational change and program implementation.
  • Bachelors, Masters depending on experience level, waived in lieu of additional documented experience/years at mid-management, senior management, or executive level.
  • Foreign Language fluency is desirable.
