Description
Story County Medical Center is seeking a patient-centered Internal Medicine Physician to join our team in Nevada, Iowa. This role focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of adult and chronic conditions. You'll be part of a collaborative, community-focused organization that values relationships, teamwork, and high-quality care.
What You'll Do
  • Provide comprehensive care for adult patients, including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions
  • Develop and manage individualized, evidence-based care plans
  • Deliver preventive care, including screenings, immunizations, and lifestyle counseling
  • Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular conditions
  • Participate in minimal rotational inpatient and skilled care call
  • Collaborate with specialists, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and long-term health management
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development
What We're Looking For
Required:
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Iowa
  • Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine
  • DEA registration
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • Mandatory Reporter certifications

Preferred:
  • PALS certification
  • Previous experience in internal medicine or primary care
