Job Description

The Core Engineering Tools Group is looking for a software engineer to be a lead contributor to the engineering tools used to measure, analyze and design groundbreaking technology in the wearable, out-loud, and automotive product spaces. Our team works with experts from across the company to develop and deploy new technology, enabling the engineering community to perform critical research, advanced development and production prototyping.

The role will entail:

  • Developing applications and user interfaces for measurement, analysis and design
  • Implementation and support of DSP algorithms and frameworks
  • Support of measurement hardware platforms
  • Writing software testing and deployment pipelines
  • Authoring engaging documentation
  • Educating, supporting and collaborating with our users

Beyond software development expertise, candidates must have a strong background in audio signal processing, acoustics and measurement theory. Practical experience with audio hardware is also highly desirable.

We are a dynamic team that has a broad reach, so candidates must enjoy working collaboratively, value team dynamics, and possess high level interpersonal skills.

Required skills and experience:

  • BS or MS in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering
  • 3+ years of industry software development experience
  • Programming in Matlab & Python, including object-oriented design and writing well-documented & testable code
  • DSP concepts and frameworks
  • Audio measurement platforms such as Audio Precision, Head Acoustics
  • CICD processes including writing test suites and packaging code for distribution
  • Champion for code quality and standards
  • A passion for customer-valued interface design
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Track record of strong teamwork and collaboration on technical projects

Highly valued experience:

  • Solid working understanding of physics and acoustics with the ability to apply these fundamentals in practical engineering contexts
  • Experience in collaborating on open-source projects
  • Hands on experience and/or curiosity about fields such as live sound production, home theater, automotive audio systems, audio recording and production, etc.
  • Familiarity and experience debugging audio hardware setups including amplifiers, speakers, microphones and signal routing
