Internal Communication CoordinatorReporting to the Manager, Internal Communications, the Internal Communications Coordinator plays a key role in supporting, developing, and distributing various communications throughout Bird. This includes spearheading employee newsletters, developing organization-wide and audience-specific communications, supporting internal events, managing the Intranet, and ensuring all associated creative complies with brand standards.
This role is based in Calgary and offers a flexible work arrangement with the majority of time in office.What You Will Be Working On

Employee Newsletters

  • Maintain accuratelist ofSubject Matter Expertsandcurate contentfor monthlyall-employee newsletter and bi-monthly leader newsletter

  • Copywrite, develop, edit,and designnewsletters;Obtain necessaryinternalapprovalspriorto distribution

  • Managenewsletterdistribution lists and perform regular audits to ensure theyremainuptodate

  • Be theSubjectMatterExpert for Bird's email distribution tool,Workshop; Managelicensesandpermissions,develop templates,upload updated distribution lists,andprovideinternaltraining and support

  • Monitorchannelanalyticsand trendsto ensurenewslettercontent is relevant to audience; identify opportunities for subsequentinternalstories

InternalCommunications&Events

  • Work with variousinternalstakeholderstosupporttheir internal communications needsand projectsthrough effectiveplanning,research,contentdevelopment,andplanexecution;Assist in establishing metrics for successandreporting on performance, where applicable

  • Organize andcoordinatemassemailsfrom various groups: Managemultipleinternalteams'prioritiesandexpectationsto ensureemailsaredistributed in a timely manner without overwhelmingemployees' inboxes

  • Develop and foster relationships across departments, districts, and leadership levels; Support the development ofvariousexecutive communications

  • Maintain distributionlists for nationalcommunications;Performregular audits to ensure lists are up to date

  • Provide support andmanagementfornewpolicydevelopment and updates to existing policies

  • Developquarterly videosand distribute to branchesto be displayed in office lobbies

  • Assistwith planning, communications,content development,and executionfornationalinternalBird events,such asquarterly employee broadcasts, annual town halls, recognition awards, and communityengagementinitiatives;Monitor andsummarize analytics to gaugeemployeeengagementand overall success

  • Leadmonthly communications call with keyinternalcommunicators,creatingan opportunity for knowledge sharing and highlighting upcoming events;Manage Comms Network Intranetpage

  • Monitor Internal Communications inbox and reply toinquiries in a timely manner

  • FacilitateFrenchtranslationsof internal documentationusingexternal thirdparties, where applicable

Intranet

  • Own the Intranet and mainnavigation; Manage permissions,provide training,andcurate and manage content for National Newsandselectpages/sites

  • Manage digitaland brandassets;Ensure information and assetsare up to date

  • Supportinternalteams withthe development and maintenance of their respective pages/sites;Train new site ownerstomanage their respective pages/sites

  • Uphold best practices to keep theIntranetcleanand easy to navigate;Perform regular audits ofdocuments andsubpages/subsites toensure compliance

  • Monitor and trackrelevant page, site,and news posts analytics, and provide support and analytics for leader-specific chatbot

  • Respond to ad-hoc intranet support requests/questions

What We Are Looking For
  • Post-secondary degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in corporate communications or marketing;AEC industry experience considered an asset

  • Strong command of the English language, withrobustwritten and verbal communication skillsanda keen eye for detail

  • Experience with Microsoft OfficeSuite(Copilot,Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams).

  • Experiencewith intranetmanagementplatforms(SharePoint)or content management systems considered an asset

  • Comfortablewith graphic design tools, particularly Canvaand/or Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experiencewithemail distribution tools, particularly Workshop,considered an asset

  • Abilityto build and maintain positive working relationships at various levels within the organization and across various teams

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

  • Comfortable working in agrowing,fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

  • Positive attitude and collaborative mindset
