Job Description Summary

As Senior Manager, Communications, you will be responsible for taking our internal and external Corporate Communications efforts to the next level.
Overseeing our enterprise internal communications strategy, content and channels, as well as supporting members of our executive leadership team, and engaging with external stakeholders and channels, this generalist role offers the opportunity to create impact.
The selected candidate will report to the VP of Communications and manage a team member. The ability to bring innovative communications approaches, operate in a dynamic environment, display strong business partnering capabilities, and excellent written and verbal communications skills are important aspects of this role.

Job Description

  • Build strategic relationships with internal customers to understand their communication needs, internal and external, and create communication strategies and materials that enhance their success.
  • Ensure team members have the information they need to understand their role in the company's success. Oversee effective internal communication planning and execution.
  • Partner with the Communication team to connect team members with Lamb Weston's corporate culture and purpose, creating one common voice for the company while ensuring the consideration of regional and cultural nuance.
  • Create channel plans, maximizing engagement opportunities and measuring success.
  • Provide communication counsel to business partners within the organization, utilizing communications to drive company success.
  • Protect and promote the company's reputation through strategic media relations.
  • Develop the strategy and content for select social media channels.
  • Support issues and crisis management, including media monitoring to identify emerging issues, industry trends, and reputational risks.
  • Develop and execute executive convenings and leadership forums, integrating messaging, content development, logistics, and stakeholder experience to support organizational goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement across communications team operations.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor's Degree, required.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in communication position, required.
  • Previous experience in a communications agency setting, global publicly traded company and/or food and agriculture communications experience, preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing people, preferred.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic communication programs
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills. Ability to simplify complex concepts into readily understandable language and engaging storylines
  • Prior experience pitching and placing earned media stories; understanding of media relations strategies and tactics
  • Strong experience partnering with a variety of business stakeholders, able to influence and counsel executives and cross-departmental groups
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Able to bring together different views, goals, and needs to find alignment and deliver business value.
