Job description

A growing venture capital firm is seeking a Fund Accounting Lead to oversee its fund accounting operations. This is a fully remote position, with a preference for candidates based in the Seattle area. This role is ideal for a hands‐on fund accounting professional who enjoys owning processes, working closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers, and helping build scalable infrastructure within a growing investment platform.

Responsibilities

Lead the day‐to‐day fund accounting process across multiple venture capital funds Oversee quarterly and annual fund closes, including review of NAVs, capital account statements, financial statements, and supporting schedules Review capital calls, distributions, management fees, expenses, and other fund‐level activity Partner closely with third‐party fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely reporting Prepare and review investor reporting, capital account statements, and ad hoc investor‐related requests Support annual audit and tax processes, coordinating with external auditors, tax advisors, and fund administrators Assist with cash management, investment activity, and portfolio‐level reporting as needed Maintain and improve fund accounting policies, controls, documentation, and reporting processes Serve as a key point of contact for internal investment, finance, legal, and operations teams Support special projects and process improvements as the firm continues to grow Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA preferred but not required 5+ years of progressive fund accounting, partnership accounting, or investment management accounting experience Experience supporting venture capital, private equity, hedge fund, fund administration, or other alternative investment funds Strong understanding of capital calls, distributions, management fees, partnership accounting, and investor reporting Experience working with third‐party fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors Strong Excel skills and comfort working with fund accounting and reporting systems Highly organized, detail‐oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines independently Strong communication skills and a collaborative, hands‐on approach This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a growing venture capital firm's fund accounting function while working remotely with an experienced and collaborative team.
