RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Workday Consultant for a remote role.
Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and self-sufficient remote Workday API Consultant to support a short-term, high-impact engagement. This is a part-time contract opportunity (approximately 20 hours per week for 4 weeks) with an immediate start. This role requires an independent consultant who can quickly analyze requirements, configure and test Workday APIs, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical recommendations with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities:
* Serve as the subject matter expert for Workday APIs, with a strong emphasis on REST and SOAP services
* Interpret and navigate Workday API documentation to identify the appropriate endpoints, resources, and operations for business requirements
* Configure, test, and validate Workday API integrations
* Develop and manipulate API request payloads and parameters to achieve desired outcomes
* Analyze API responses, troubleshoot errors, and identify root causes of technical issues
* Chain or orchestrate multiple API calls to support complex business processes and integration requirements
* Evaluate differences between API versions, resources, and operations, and determine the optimal approach for implementation
Assess and troubleshoot configuration dependencies, including:
* Security domains and permissions
* Business processes
* Validation rules
* Data access and response scope
* Build and execute API test scenarios using Postman or similar API testing tools
* Produce documentation and evidence of testing results, functionality, and recommendations
* Work independently while communicating findings, risks, and solutions clearly to stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS:
* The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Workday expert with deep technical knowledge of Workday REST and SOAP APIs, Workday administration, and API integrations
* Extensive hands-on experience with Workday integrations, APIs, and administration
* Deep expertise in both Workday REST APIs and Workday SOAP Web Services
* Proven ability to interpret and leverage Workday API documentation without guidance
* Strong understanding of Workday security configuration and how security impacts API behavior and data access
* Experience troubleshooting API requests, responses, authentication, authorization, and data validation issues
* Advanced experience using Postman or equivalent API testing tools
* Ability to independently investigate requirements and recommend technical solutions
* Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Preferred Experience:
Strong experience working with the following Workday APIs and related operations, including GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, and associated sub-resources:
* REST APIs
* Staffing API (v6)
* Person API (v4)
* Common API (v1)
* Absence Management API (v1)
* SOAP Web Services
* Human Resources (v43.2)
* Compensation (v43.2)

* Contract Length: 4 Weeks

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
