About Us:

Thayermahan is a leader in Underwater Acoustic Monitoring. In the Persistent Surveillance Systems department, we monitor and localize passive acoustic contacts on a 24/7 operational schedule for many different contracts. Our team is devoted to providing timely and accurate contact reporting on both biologic and manmade contacts. We also do all our piloting in-house for a variety of unmanned vehicles, which we use to carry our acoustic payloads.

Job Title: Assistant Director of Maritime Operations

Job Category/Department: Operational Supervisor/Maritime Operations

Reporting to: Deputy Director of Maritime Operations

Location (In person/Hybrid/Remote): In person

Position Type: Full Time/Part Time/Intern: Full Time

Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Maritime Operations will be responsible but not limited to the following

Prepare, launch, and recover autonomous vehicles and surveillance equipment

Creative problem solving on location, platform assembly, troubleshooting, coordination with operations leadership team

Excellent communicator, team player, budget conscious, adapt to issues in the field, deliver on schedule, and interact with customers

Flexibility in events that require at sea deployments on short notice

Role and Responsibilities:

Run a team conducting at sea operations on both small craft and large offshore supply vessels

Water operations and maintenance of support vessel and all related marine operations equipment assistance - tenders, docks and launch tools (crane/forklift)
