As we modernize and innovate in our retail operations, we are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager, Store Systems & Operations to lead the strategy, development, and optimization of our store systems technology. You will own the platforms and tools that power retail store operations — POS, inventory management, store communications, and operational software — enabling store teams to deliver a seamless, efficient, and engaging customer experience. You will also help evaluate and manage technology needs for current and future trading card game (TCG) ventures. This role demands a proactive, hands-on, AI-native operator who digs into complex detail independently and drives both strategic and tactical outcomes.

First-12-month outcomes you'll own: (1) a prioritized, outcome-based store-systems roadmap tied to measurable operational KPIs; (2) at least one AI/automation capability shipped into store or support workflows with proven impact; (3) a continuous-discovery and experimentation cadence with store teams.

This position sits onsite 5 days a week in Grapevine, TX.

Responsibilities:

Product Ownership:

  • Lead the vision, roadmap, and execution for store systems technology, including POS, inventory management, store communications tools, and operational software.
  • Frame the roadmap around outcomes and OKRs (operational and customer impact), not a feature output list.
  • Act as the primary business owner for store-related technology tied to new initiatives, including upcoming TCG projects.
  • Champion an AI-native operating model — using AI for discovery synthesis, documentation, data analysis, and rapid prototyping as the default way of working.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize AI and automation opportunities across store operations, support tooling, and product workflows.
  • Own outcomes for AI-powered features, including model/quality metrics (e.g., accuracy, false-positive rate, latency) and guardrails for non-deterministic behavior.
  • Define evaluation and rollout discipline for AI features — A/B tests, shadow/pilot deployments, and gradual rollouts with clear success criteria.

Operational Excellence:

  • Partner with Store Operations, IT, and other stakeholders to streamline processes, reduce operational friction, and enable store teams to deliver exceptional service.
  • Ensure store systems are stable, efficient, and aligned with compliance, security, and corporate standards.
  • Work with digital, merchandising, and supply chain teams to ensure store systems integrate effectively with ecommerce, order management, and fulfillment.
  • Manage the product lifecycle for store technology — from requirements and prioritization to testing, launch, and post-release optimization.
  • Collaborate with engineering, UX, and vendor partners to deliver reliable, user-friendly tools for store associates.
  • Run continuous discovery (not episodic) — ongoing store-team feedback, pilots, and rapid iteration to reduce decision latency.

Data-Driven Decisions:

  • Leverage operational data, store feedback, and performance metrics to identify opportunities and measure the success of system changes.
  • Define and track the small set of metrics that prove impact; be willing to kill features with evidence.
  • Stay current with retail technology trends, POS innovations, and operational best practices to inform strategy.
  • Evaluate new solutions and vendors that could enhance store operations or support TCG initiatives.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of product management or related experience in retail store systems, POS, or operational technology.
  • 3+ years working with cloud technology solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Proven track record managing technology products or platforms in a multi-store retail environment.
  • Strong understanding of store operations workflows and pain points.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including store operations, IT, merchandising, and supply chain.
  • Fluent with Agile/Scrum and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence), and with outcome-based roadmapping and OKRs.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to make informed product decisions.
  • Data literacy sufficient to reason about AI/ML outputs — interpreting model performance, false positives/negatives, and experiment results.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to say no with evidence and keep executive sponsorship.

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated use of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini) to improve productivity, automate documentation, analyze data, or accelerate product work — with examples of real outcomes, not just tool familiarity.
  • Comfort evaluating AI-powered vendor solutions and distinguishing genuine capability from marketing claims.
  • Experience defining or contributing to SRE or operational reliability processes for store or large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience building or overseeing tools that support field teams, help desks, or store associates in diagnosing and resolving system issues.
  • Experience with vendor selection and management.
  • Passion for gaming, collectibles, or TCGs is highly preferred.
