Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the development of a new calibration data baseline for test chambers and related electrical systems, ensuring a customer-centric focus on accuracy, reliability, and continuous improvement.

  • Assist in establishing standardized calibration processes and documentation that are authentic, transparent, and aligned with quality and compliance standards.

  • Contribute to defining and maintaining calibration intervals, demonstrating accountability for data integrity and operational consistency.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, lab operations, and maintenance teams to support chamber updates, troubleshooting, and repairs in an agile and collaborative manner.

  • Assist in analyzing calibration results and identifying opportunities for process improvements and innovative solutions.

  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and logs to support audits, performance tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support ongoing system monitoring and assist with updates to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

  • Foundational knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, or calibration concepts.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovative and practical solutions.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and communicate technical information effectively.

  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accountability and accuracy in technical work.

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word) for documentation and reporting.

  • Willingness to operate in a dynamic, agile environment supporting engineering and lab operations.

  • Professional workplace communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Part-time role, must be available to work 15-20 hours a week during the fall academic term, including on site at Itron's Liberty Lake location. Role to begin in September.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Previous internship, lab, or project experience involving calibration, testing, or instrumentation (i.e - network analyzer, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer)

  • Familiarity with environmental or test chambers, measurement systems, or data acquisition tools.

  • Exposure to utilities, energy, or technology-driven environments with a strong customer-centric focus.

  • Experience interpreting technical drawings, schematics, or calibration standards.

  • Knowledge of quality systems or compliance standards (e.g., ISO-related processes) is a plus.

Liberty Lake, WA: hourly rate, state minimum up to $44.23/hr
