POSITION SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end supply chain for the organization. This role will ensure the efficient flow of raw materials, components, and finished products from suppliers to customers, while maintaining cost control, quality, and on-time delivery. This role is both strategic and tactical, requiring a blend of procurement expertise, supplier relationship management, and industry-specific knowledge to support manufacturing operations in a competitive, regulated sector.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Planning & Optimization: Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
  • Procurement & Sourcing: Manage purchasing activities, negotiate contracts with suppliers, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory, using forecasting and demand planning to balance supply and demand.
  • Logistics & Distribution: Coordinate transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities to support manufacturing and customer delivery schedules.
  • Supplier Performance: Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues promptly, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, sales, finance, engineering, and quality teams to align supply chain activities with business goals.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions, compliance issues, and quality failures.
  • Technology & Process Improvement: Implement and manage supply chain systems, including ERP, WMS, and forecasting tools, to streamline operations.
  • Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and sustainability standards in sourcing and logistics.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a supply chain team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree or certifications (CPSM, CSCP) preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in supply chain management role within manufacturing, preferably in telecommunications or fiber optics.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership abilities; expertise in procurement, inventory, logistics, and supplier management.
  • Familiarity with TL 9000 or similar standards and associated processes.
  • Proven experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Experience with ERP systems and supply chain operations (Epicor experience preferred).
  • MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) required.
  • Experience with BOMs, routings, manufacturing drawings, and ERP (Epicor) systems.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS
  • This employee must be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Time management; prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and avoiding distractions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • The work environment involves both office and production floor areas.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
COMPENSATION

Pay Range: $145,000.00 - $155,000.00 (annualized for all non MFG positions, even if hourly)

Status: Exempt

Other Compensation Offered: Bonus – This position is eligible for annual bonus pay based on the performance of the Company.
