Manufacturing Engineer Intern/Co-Op
KCC Manufacturing is currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for our manufacturing operation in the Louisville, KY area. This is a full-time, temporary position. The right candidate will be in an Industrial or Mechanical Engineering major, with a focus on improvements within the manufacturing process.

Job Reponsibilities:
• Champion shop floor improvement projects such as fixture builds, cart design, etc.
• Oversee implementation of shop floor improvement projects and document progress.
• Hands-On leadership on welding and fabrication for special projects as needed.
• Conduct and document time studies to determine best manufacturing methods and times.
• Assess layouts of equipment, materials and workspace to maximize productivity.
• Update and develop standard operating procedures for shop floor.
• Continuously make suggestions to improve processes with regards to quality and productivity
• Communicate and collaborate with management and product design engineers regarding the manufacturability of parts & assemblies.
• Reduce scrap product and identify opportunities for increasing capacity.
• Collect and analyse data to identify root causes of defects and suggest appropriate countermeasures.
• Report and document any equipment / process abnormalities.
• Manage and test new equipment.
• Monitor and improve related quality and processing areas and provide problem solving assistance for improvements in quality, performance, productivity and cost.
• Work in production related tasks, as required.
Qualifications:
• Student in a bachelor's degree program in engineering (industrial, manufacturing or mechanical).
