Job description

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make an impact by supporting the educational journey of students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a school district near Fortson, GA. This full-time contract role runs from early August 2026 through late May 2027 and requires onsite presence to deliver direct, hands-on services. The district values a tailored approach, and will work to match you with a caseload that aligns with your experience level and age group preference.

What you’ll bring:

  • An active Georgia Educator Certificate for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Prior experience supporting students with visual impairments in educational settings (preferred)
  • Detailed organizational skills—daily service logging and documentation are required
  • Flexibility to collaborate with staff and families to ensure positive student outcomes
  • Comfort with adapting to various caseload sizes and student age groups
  • Commitment to onsite service delivery (remote/VOCO candidates are not eligible)

Your responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instructional and consultative services to students identified with visual impairments
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student needs
  • Maintain daily logs to document all services rendered
  • Adapt curriculum, create accessible instructional materials, and collaborate with classroom teachers
  • Facilitate use of assistive technology as appropriate
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with district staff to optimize student support
