About the Role / Position Summary

The Software Engineering Intern will support FEG’s Information Technology/Engineering team by contributing to software development, data integration, application modernization, testing, documentation, and operational support activities. This part‑time role is designed for a student or early‑career technologist who wants hands‑on experience building practical technology solutions in a collaborative, business‑focused environment.

  • Assist with software development tasks across internal applications, APIs, data integrations, and automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineers, business analysts, and technology leaders to understand requirements and deliver reliable, maintainable solutions.
  • Write, test, debug, and document code under the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Support application modernization efforts, including updates to legacy systems, cloud‑based services, and internal tools.
  • Participate in team planning, code reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement discussions.
Core Areas of Responsibility
  • Software development support for internal applications, services, scripts, and automation tools.
  • Testing, debugging, documentation, and quality assurance support for engineering deliverables.
  • Data and integration support, including working with structured data, APIs, databases, and internal data workflows.
  • Team collaboration, technical learning, and contribution to agile delivery practices.

  • Azure cloud services, APIs, data integrations, automation tools, and secure application delivery practices.
  • GitHub, Visual Studio, AI assisted coding tools and agile collaboration tools.

What We Require / Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Foundational programming experience through coursework, projects, internships, or personal development work.
  • Basic understanding of software development concepts, version control, databases, APIs, and testing practices.
