Job description

We are a growing excavation company specializing in grading and utility site preparation for Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs), gas stations, and other medium-size commercial excavation projects. Our company is owned by a franchisee of a high-growth QSR brand, providing a consistent pipeline of fast-paced, quality-driven projects across Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator with at least 3+ years of experience operating dirt work machinery. The ideal candidate will be proficient in running a dozer, excavator, and compact roller, with a strong working knowledge of Topcon GPS systems.

This role requires travel to projects throughout Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate dozers, excavators, and compact rollers safely and efficiently.

• Perform grading, excavation, backfilling, trenching, and compaction to meet project specifications.

• Utilize Topcon GPS systems for accurate grading and layout.

• Read and follow site plans, grade stakes, and civil drawings.

• Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections.

• Assist site foreman with daily production goals.

• Maintain a safe work environment by following company and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in excavation or site preparation.

• Proficiency with dozers, excavators, and compact rollers.

• Experience using Topcon GPS (required).

• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and grades.

• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.

• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus).

• Willingness to travel (Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky).
