Description
About Anthesis:
Anthesis is the sustainability activator. Proud to be a B Corp, we seek to make a significant contribution to a world which is more resilient and productive. We do this by working with cities, corporates, investors and other organisations to drive sustainable performance. We develop financially driven sustainability strategies, underpinned by technical expertise and delivered by innovative collaborative teams across the world.
At Anthesis Group, we are truly committed to putting people and our planet at the heart of all we do.
Key Responsibilities
As a senior member of Anthesis' LCA Center of Excellence, you will combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking to help clients use life cycle thinking as a tool for better business and sustainability decisions.
  • Lead complex LCA engagements from approach and methodology through delivery, ensuring technical rigor, robust assumptions, and alignment with relevant international standards and industry frameworks.
  • Shape innovative LCA approaches for emerging and complex contexts where established methodologies may not yet provide clear answers, including new technologies, circular systems, service-based models, and evolving value chains.
  • Turn complex analysis into actionable insight, translating LCA results and environmental impacts into clear recommendations for C-suite executives, product, manufacturing, and sustainability leaders.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, challenging assumptions and problem framing when needed and designing tailored approaches that address their specific sustainability and business challenges.
  • Provide technical leadership and quality assurance across projects, reviewing models and deliverables and supporting teams to consistently deliver high-quality work using tools such as SimaPro, OpenLCA, and Excel.
  • Lead and develop project teams, managing priorities, delegating effectively, mentoring junior colleagues, and building LCA capabilities across the organization.
  • Contribute to business development and growth, engaging in client conversations, shaping proposals and RFP responses, and identifying opportunities to expand Anthesis' LCA offering.
  • Help shape the future of LCA, contributing to thought leadership, new methodologies, automation, LCA at scale, Product Carbon Footprinting, sustainable product design, and technology-enabled sustainability transformation.
  • Represent Anthesis externally through conferences, industry events, and other forums, strengthening our position as a leader in LCA and sustainability.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
We are looking for someone who combines deep LCA expertise, strong client presence, and the ability to navigate complex or ambiguous sustainability challenges.
  • 7+ years of hands-on LCA experience across multiple sectors, with experience leading complex assessments.
  • Degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong command of SimaPro, OpenLCA, and Excel; experience with GaBi is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 14040/14044, ISO 14067, GHG Protocol Product Standard, PEF, PCRs, EPD-related EN standards, and relevant industry-specific frameworks.
  • Experience with GHG inventories and corporate carbon footprinting.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply LCA to complex or emerging contexts, including circular systems, new technologies, service-based systems, or evolving value chains.
  • Strong understanding of how system boundaries, feedstocks, data quality, assumptions, and methodological choices can influence LCA outcomes and decision-making.
  • Ability to work confidently with incomplete or imperfect information, using sound technical judgment to develop defensible approaches.
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to make complex technical topics accessible and compelling to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple complex projects, manage competing priorities, and maintain high standards of quality and delivery.
  • Experience mentoring and developing others, with the ability to provide technical leadership without losing sight of the broader project and client context.
  • Commercial mindset and confidence contributing to business development, proposals, and client conversations.
  • Experience with technology, semiconductors, digital services, AI, cloud infrastructure, or technology-sector footprinting is a plus.

Job Benefits
  • Comprehensive and competitive group health, dental, and vision insurance plans for you and your dependents.

  • Opportunity to have a direct impact and contribute to the growth and development of Anthesis' LCA Center of Excellence.
  • Work collaboratively on projects that have a meaningful impact on clients' sustainability, circularity, and climate goals.
