Department: Training/Education

Job Status: Intern

Reports to: Designated intern supervisor

Positions Supervised: None

Amount of Travel Required: Minimal

Work Schedule: all shifts available

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Bachelor level interns may qualify for a paid internship in positions that relate to the provision of case management, care coordination/navigation, crisis services, school based services, early childhood intervention, psychosocial groups and services.
  • Comply with agency policies and procedures
  • Complete required online and in person trainings
  • Complete notes and documentation as required and within expected timeframes
  • Attend supervision meetings and staff meetings as assigned
  • Report absences, changes in schedule or requested time off to the designated supervisor.
  • Define set internship hours in accordance with requirements of the accredited universityโ€™s field placement office.
  • Report to internship on time and as scheduled.
  • Abide by federal laws and regulations around confidentiality and privacy.
  • Insure compliance with preserving client rights.

Qualifications

Education

  • Seeking bachelor degree in psychology, social work, family studies, addictions or related human services field.
  • A student in good standing with an accredited university.

Experience:

  • Experience and passion working with youth and families
  • Knowledge and/or training of child/adolescent development

Interns must have sufficient ambulatory capabilities to work with children and adolescents in the office setting. Position may require the ability to use physical holding (MAB) with children and adolescents exhibiting out of control behaviors.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Office and Community-Based working environment; requires flexible schedule; frequent interruptions occur; expected to deal with individuals in crisis, potential risk of exposure to aggressive and/or acting out (verbal and physical) children and youth.
