The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) has an opening for a Communications Intern within the Communications, Marketing and Community Engagment division. The position is available for the 2026-2027 school year.

Qualifications:
  • Candidate must be currently enrolled as a college student
  • Majoring in communications, Journalism or related field
  • Excellent writing, proofing and editing skills required
  • Social media knowledge and skills required
  • Experience in website content management preferred
  • Graphic design skills preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and desktop publishing using Adobe software preferred
  • Digital photography skills preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare news (media) releases under the communications manager's supervision
  • Provide support to the manager and communications specialists in the areas of writing, proofing and editing documents
  • Provide support to the manager and specialists with website maintenance, social media and video/photography
  • Assist with calendar creation under the supervision of the manager and specialists
  • Assist the Special Events Coordinator as needed
  • Assist communications secretaries with clerical duties and functions
  • Provide support and back-up in the Duplication/Mailroom department as needed
  • Attend weekend and night functions as needed

Salary:
$17.34 per hour
Schedule:
Up to 20 hours per week. Days and times determined by student's school schedule
