Who we are looking for:

Our Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Geotechnical departments are looking for a Summer 2026 Intern! Interns will be exposed to construction projects in either the private sector or government. They will interact directly with experienced technical personnel including project managers (some of which are engineers and PE’s.)  They may have the opportunity to interact directly with clients, contractors, and owners during the course of Summer. Additionally, our interns will be exposed to construction documentation such as plans, specifications, testing specifications and standards.

 What you will be doing:

 Including but not limited to:

  • Mainly focused on performing routine construction materials testing services (soils, concrete, and masonry) in the laboratory or on construction sites.
  • Other support duties as assigned, which may include report creation and editing, depending on projects available.

What you need to have:

  • Unofficial copy of your academic transcript, if applicable
  • Prior experience not required
  • Candidates in college working toward a degree in the engineering, geology, or earth sciences are preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail required
  • This position is subject to outside environmental conditions
  • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and good standing driving record
