Job description

First Quality Retail Services, LLC in Lewistown, PA is seeking talented, team-oriented, college students for its Internship Programs. We have one goal: providing you with real life, hands-on experience! These positions are full-time, paid positions where you will work on real projects with real results!
Purpose and role of internship:
Responsible for participating and leading quality related new product studies and validations. This position will offer many challenging circumstances, which require quick thinking and problem-solving methods to properly manage and support the operation. Flexibility is a requirement of this position. Must be able to work closely with all supporting departments.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
  • Assist with new product launch and quality validation activities
  • Inspection system and quality process audit improvements with SPC software.
  • Continuous Improvement of quality systems and inspection protocols
  • Gauge R&R studies of new processes and testing methods

Education and experience requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (or demonstrated progress toward a degree) in related field of study
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA
  • Proficient use in Excel, Minitab, and other MS Office applications
  • Strong statistics background
  • 0-3 years of experience, including academic projects
  • 18 years or older

Work Environment:
Work in a manufacturing environment with the potential for exposure to dust during certain tasks.
Physical Requirements:
  • Walk/stand 100% of time during a 8-hour shift.
  • Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling and squatting throughout shift.
  • Occasional climbing and reaching into machines to fix jams.
  • Occasional reaching overhead during shift.
  • Frequent pushing and pulling with arms and legs throughout shift, including materials requiring up to 75lbs of force to maneuver.
  • Frequent lifting or carrying of boxes weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Constant light and firm grasping with hands throughout shift.
  • Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area.
  • Occasional climbing of steps.
  • Balance required for some tasks.
