Job description

Our Intern program is aย paid opportunity that allows participants to contribute to the organization's success while at the same time applying learnings from the classroom. This semester we will continue with a hybrid program and will offer each participant the opportunity to gain in-office experience for approximately 3-days a week. Interns are responsible for their individual transportation and housing needs.ย 

Intern Expectations:ย 

All Interns are expected to work 24-29.9 hours a week during the session. While each intern will be working with a specific division, they will have the opportunity to learn about other areas within Excel, through lunch and learns held throughout the semester.ย 

Important Dates:ย 

Our Fall Program runs from Monday, September 14th, 2026 through Thursday, December 10th, 2026ย 

Office Hours:ย 

  • 9:00 am6:00 PM ET, Monday-Friday OR as agreed upon with advisor. Days inย officeย must be coordinated withย Advisor'sย schedules.ย 

Our Interns must:ย 

  • Be available to workย under 30ย hours per week.ย 
  • Be available to report to theย New Yorkย Officeย approximatelyย 3-daysย a week.ย 
  • Have a senior standing in college (must have completed your junior year ofย undergrad)ย

  • Be enrolled in a graduate schoolย 

ORย 

  • Have a bachelor's or postgraduate degree.

Interview Process:ย ย

  • If selected, the expectation is that offers will be extended mid to late August.
  • The program will begin on September 14th, 2026.

Graphic Design (Social Media) Intern Job Description:ย 

  • Assists the Social Media teamย inย designingย graphicsย for Excel socialย channelsย 
  • Assistย in versioning out template-based contentย 
  • Assistย in developing creative concepts for social media initiativesย 
  • Proficiencyย and experience in Adobe Photoshopย areย requiredย 
  • Must provide creativeย portfolioย 
  • Mustย demonstrateย high attention to detail andย consistencyย 
  • Learns the importance of C.A.R.E. (consistency, authenticity,ย relevanceย and engagement.)ย ย 
  • Will learnย theย designย process ofย content to be published for approved stories andย in-feedย postsย ย 
  • Will develop skills needed to designย content specifically forย social mediaย 
  • Will learn toย maintainย brand consistency across social channelsย 
  • Will have access to the Excel team for industry advice and learningsย ย 
  • May occasionally be assigned projects outside theย Social Media/Communications group to gain exposure to other divisions within Excel.ย ย
