Purpose of Announcement EXAMINATION IS ANNOUNCED TO SUPPLEMENT THE EXISTING EMPLOYMENT LIST TO MULTIPLE FUTURE EAST & WESTJEFFERSON VACANCIES IN VARIOUS PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENTS. EMPLOYEE WILL WORK A VARIED SCHEDULE WITH NO REGULAR FIXED HOURS PER WEEK OR PER PAY PERIOD.

THESE ARE TEMPORARY APPOINTMENTS LIMITED IN TERM TO PREDEFINED WORK ASSIGNMENT BUT IN NO CASE BEYOND FULL-TIME COLLEGE STATUS OF INCUMBENT EMPLOYEE. Kind of Work Under direct supervision, this position performs work assignments of a limited duration. The incumbent provides brief, temporary technical or administrative support.

College interns perform sub-professional level work. Position is responsible for duties related to the specific major field of study and the specific mission of the Jefferson Parish Department. Employee may be required to perform other duties as they relate to this position, based upon the needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications For Admission to Examination Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program above the sophomore level (60 successfully completed hours of study) in an Engineering Science degree program; OR Current enrollment in an accredited graduate degree program in the area of Engineering Science. Proof of course work will be required. Kind of Examination (ENTRANCE AND PROMOTIONAL) NON-COMPETITIVE - All persons meeting the stated requirements on this announcement will be issued an Employment Eligibility letter for College Intern - Technical Engineering and have their name forwarded to appointing authority when vacancies arise.
