At Institutional Annuities, New York Life's specialized annuity business, you'll play a pivotal role in crafting financial stability for businesses and institutions nationwide. Our diverse suite of annuity products, ranging from capital market offerings to pension risk transfer solutions, empowers organizations of all sizes to navigate risk and secure their future financial obligations.

Role Overview:
The Stable Value Investments (SVI) Contract team is looking for a motivated and intellectually curious Contract Associate to support our business operations. This role focuses on drafting and filing group annuity contracts for stable value, retirement income, and guaranteed products. As part of an established leader in the stable value and guaranteed products industry, you will have significant growth potential based on your performance. In addition to contract drafting and state regulatory filing, you will gain insights into underwriting, legal and regulatory issues, and the investments and risk management aspects of our products


What You'll Do:

  • Prepare state insurance department filings of contracts and amendments
  • Manage filing progress through System for Electronic Rates and Forms Filing (SERFF) and directly via Insurance Department website; interact with state insurance department personnel as needed, as well as monitor and track all regulator correspondence
  • Coordinate signature and delivery process of relevant documents
  • Support the team's efforts to develop new products, adapt existing products for new markets, and keep in-force business current through periodic reviews and amendments
  • Manage project plans as business needs dictate
  • Coordinate activity with other members of the SVI team as well as internal support groups (Sales, Actuarial, Guaranteed Products, and Legal) on product, contract, compliance and business issues
  • Underwriting reviews for prospective clients
  • Review on-going transactional (deposit/withdrawal) activity requests from clients to ensure contractual compliance
  • Assist in preparation of presentation materials
  • Assist in planning client conference calls, meetings and entertainment
  • Lead or participate in group projects
  • Ad-hoc administrative tasks including audit preparation, document archiving, and file maintenance


What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 1+ years' work/intern experience in financial or insurance industry; fixed-income or stable value literacy a plus
  • Professional communication skills with emphasis on strong, clear, and concise writing abilities
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage deliverables and multi-task under pressure
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with the tenacity to follow projects through to completion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. Familiarity with SERFF, SalesForce or Tableau a plus

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:ย $51,500-$73,500ย 

Overtime eligible:ย Nonexemptย 

Discretionary bonus eligible:ย Yesย 

Sales bonus eligible:ย Noย 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
