Job description

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL)is looking for someone to join ourProtection Systemsteam asa Power Engineering Intern inPullman, Washington.Candidates who can work part-time during the academic year and full-time during the summer are encouraged to apply. A typical day asa Power Engineering Internmight include:

  • Provide technical support to SEL staff & customers.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge in SEL processes and technologies.
  • Perform testing on new and existing technology.
  • Document and communicate test results.
  • Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
  • Understand. Create. Simplify.
  • Other duties as assigned.


This job might be for you if:

  • Are enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Have reached junior standing or higher in your academic program
  • Ability to use MS Windows.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Visio
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Electric Power Systems.
  • Knowledge of Computer Networks Fundamentals.
  • Practical knowledge of SEL protective relays & automation controllers
  • Experience in programming and script files

Pay Range Data - $24.25 - $33.00 hourly
